Well the UKIP candidate in Weymouth certainly has a good name especially for a South Coast naval town. I'm sure Lennon wishes he were standing for his party but UKIP seems apt enough. Lets hope he singes Jeremy Corbyn's beard a bit

Some information on a town council by-election this Thursday, Burnham-on-Sea & Highbridge Town Council, Highbridge Ward, Cause: Lib Dem resigned.
In May this year, while the district ward (covering a larger area) was over-subscribed, electing 2 Conservatives and 1 UKIP, from 14 candidates, the town council ward was under-subscribed, having only 6 candidates for 5 seats:
Highbridge Ward, May 2015: LD 941/888/883, Ind 899, Con 780/754
This time it is a straight LD/Con fight, other parties here being reluctant to enter the fray.
Both new Conservative MP for Wells James Heappey and former LD MP Tessa Munt have weighed in on this one.
Lib Dems should be favoured to hold this seat, but turnout may be very low.

Fairly surprised there is no UKIP candidate in Shrewsbury. I would have thought that ward had some potential for them. I was down in Weymouth yesterday helping our campaign there, and am looking forward to this result. If posters won elections, we would win this by a country mile.

How much greater was a country mile than an urban mile?
