Poll added. I'd probably vote for PiS.
The three largest parties/coalitions are all led by women.

One day to go, and the opposition Law and Justice Party (PiS) led by Mrs. Beata Szydło (pictured) has a double digit lead in the polls.

With such polls nothing can be taken for certain. (Except that PSL will end above the 5%-threshold...)

I've gone for .Modern. All the other options look pretty terrible.

Tried to go to the local Polish club for lunch today. Couldn't get a seat, because half of it was being used as a polling station. What are Poland's rules for overseas voters?

What time is the Polish election exit poll published?

Doesn't look like a good turnout. I note that the United Left list is out of the Sejm because it is a coalition list.

It took a long time but I eventually found a Polish election show with live streaming: tvpstream.tvp.pl/

Oh 5% threshold is it? Looks like the party I 'voted' for just missed out then

Oh 5% threshold is it? Looks like the party I 'voted' for just missed out then 5% for individual parties, 8% for coalition lists which is why it looks like the United Left is out of parliament with 6.6%.

Interesting the new party in Parliament, Kukiz 15 has as it's main policy the introduction of First past the post for Polish elections.

Would they actually have any seats if the election had been fought under FPTP?

Most peculiar Korwin is so high amongst 18-29 year olds. Assume the social attitudes of young people in Poland are much different to what we're used to here in the UK?

The first thing to note about Polish elections is the turnouts: they are habitually appalling. For whatever reason (I don't know why) close to half the adult population has been consistent in its lack of interest in the political process (turnouts are no higher in Presidential elections) and this was even the case in the early 90s when the system was new. And the second thing to note is that many of those that do vote don't seem to take things seriously, judging by the tendency of joke parties to win seats from time to time (a pattern seat when the Beer Lovers Party took sixteen in 1991). Of course given the options given to them, maybe neither of these facts should be surprising...

Oh 5% threshold is it? Looks like the party I 'voted' for just missed out then In better news this will be the first Parliament in post war Polish history not to have any socialist parties at all in it. That assumes that the SLD can be honestly and accurately described as 'socialist' which is dubious. Its basically a party of former PZPR functionaries (like literally: I doubt anyone else even votes for it now) and has demonstrated a remarkable lack of principle over the years, unless you count enthusiasm for theft of public money as a principle. Leszek Miller's government was to the right of that of the Kaczyńskis in all respects not involving nationalism...
