I noticed the thread on Sheffield election leaflets and recalled that when I was Whip of the Liberal Democrat Group on Leeds City Council in the late 1980s, the Lib Dem Group Room was moved. During the clear-out I had to dispose of a fairly comprehensive collection of local election leaflets that had been left by Michael Meadowcroft. Although there is a bias towards Liberal leaflets and West Leeds in particular, the collection includes a range of leaflets from all parties and all parts of the city. I donated the collection to the Leeds Local History Library, with Michael's consent. They have presumably been added to the collection already held there and should be available for inspection - should anyone be interested.
