Very close run again in Fant-surprisingly the Liberal Democrats only achieved a 2.4% swing in their favour, 1/10th of the swing they managed in Southborough, Tunbridge Wells (also in Kent). Pleased for Stuart's result on the Greens' behalf, given how tight elections have been in the Fant ward in recent years (this by-election proved to be no exception).

Heavy UKIP collapse in Blackheath-their vote share dropped from 36% to 16%; Labour's majority increases.

UKIP will probably be pleased with the Thurrock result - held up much better than other recent by-elections

Not really surprising as there had already been a substantial swing to the Lib Dems in May compared to 2012 and 2014

UKIP will probably be pleased with the Thurrock result - held up much better than other recent by-elections In fact, only the 2nd by-election since May where their vote increased.

All four English seats in, just waiting on Edinburgh - which looks like it's interesting:

For some reason, Britain Votes reports on when the person who caused the vacancy did got elected , instead of last time seat was up.
Lab 51.4% (+7.0) Con 30.5% (-0.6) UKIP 16.1% (-8.4) Grn 2.0%

So disappointed-I was really hoping we would hold our seat on transfers.... There was not much of a surplus from the SNP to transfer and I can't see many Conservatives transferring to Green. There were not enough votes for the minor parties including Lib Dems to bridge the gap. Creating the second vacancy was something of an own goal from the Greens.
