A recovery of sorts notable since the GE and more so with Farron becoming leader, but still far from universal.

One interesting possible pattern is that the areas where the rump Liberal party hung on during the dark days of the 50s and 60s (Wales, Scotland (excepting O%S), South West could actually be the slowest areas for them to recover this time round.

Glasbury and Camborne should give a little indication of how things are going in places like that this month.

The votes cast last time (in elections ranging from 2012 to 2015) in the by-elections since the general election were: Lab 37%, Con 21%, SNP 11%, Lib Dem 9%, UKIP 8%, Green 5%, Ind 5%, Plaid 1%, Others 3% and up until last week the votes cast in the by-elections were: Lab 31%, Con 21%, SNP 19%, Lib Dem 13%, UKIP 6%, Green 6%, Ind 3%, Plaid 1%, Others 1% suggesting: Lab -6%, Con unchanged, SNP +8%, Lib Dem +4%, UKIP -2%, Green +1%, Ind -2%, Plaid unchanged and Others -2%
