Edward Heath is a specialist subject on the new series of BBC Mastermind. The relevant heat was originally supposed to be broadcast on 13th August but got postponed after the allegations came out. The BBC have now re-scheduled that heat for broadcast on 4th September.
(Declaration of interest: I know one of the other contestants in that heat from the quiz circuit.)

I find the whole thing all too implausible. Ted Heath had enough enemies within his own party before starting on those in other parties. It must have been a very comprehensive conspiracy to cover all that up.
I know there were cases that were hushed up. Tom Driberg springs to mind. He obviously had friends in high places, probably Beaverbrook, and that enabled at least one case where he was caught cottaging to be covered up. That was in the 1940s and it is inconceivable that it could have happened in the 1970s without something concrete coming out about a Prime Minister.
