The local elections in North Korea took place on Sunday, turnout has been announced at 99.7%. Results are due early next week, but no shocks are expected (as there's only 1 name on each ballot paper unlikely)
The only question is how does it take so long to count the ballot papers? Could they improve with help from Tower Hamlets, not often can one say this?

The figure of 99.7% was given in the headline in the Daily Mail, but that seems to be a simple typographical error by the Mail because in the text of the article it said 99.97%.
I don't know about local elections, but the usual format for the "results" of parliamentary elections is that a list of the elected MPs is published (one name per constituency), and the turnout is given as XX.XX% and the vote for the WPK & Allies is given as XX.XX%. I think last time it was a turnout of 99.98% and a vote for the WPK of 100.00% (or perhaps the other way round, I'm not sure). I don't remember ever seeing detailed results (actual numbers of votes) for individual constituencies.
In reality the results are probably completely fictitious anyway, and bear no relation to the numbers who actually voted against or spoilt their ballot papers or whatever.

Surely no one would dare spoil their ballot paper.

I share your faith in the results. I have read it's more a useful way of ensuring everyone is where they are meant to be

Kim is your local Juche candidate, working hard all year round, not just at election time. Only Kim can defeat the evil US running dog capitalist traitors.
