The St Helens Hastings one will be interesting, especially with the now apparent reasons for the Tory resignation. As it is a very bad demographic seat for Labour and their win in 2012 was just an indication of our decline and the state of Hastings Tories, if it wasn't for the circumstances surrounding the resignation I would predict a Tory hold. However, I suspect this will be the seat we will be properly campaigning in on Thursday (out of the three by-elections in Hastings) so that will probably drive down the line to win somewhat lower and hurt the Tories more than Labour (but the Greenies hurting Labour too) so, with Labour's good campaigning machine, I think they'll nick it. It's not as if they're in any real danger in either of the other two seats up on Thursday.
I was a few years behind Lock at school as it happens.

Also interesting to see how the Conservative vote has climbed in the Hyndburn ward (albeit still a fair distance behind) against both the national and local trend. Central St Leonard's has a lot of flats and bedsits, it's the most 'decayed' part of the seafront area with not much in the way of posh flats. The Tory vote comes mainly from the houses in the West away from the seafront. |

Keith Allcock, the Labour candidate, was an LD councillor for Great Barr & Yew Tree ward from 2007 to 2011 (defeated by Labour). What happened there!? The whole Sandwell Liberal Democrats seems to have joined Labour.
Also, UKIP candidate is a racist claiming than EU is doing a genocide in Britain by replacing the British race by making UK a mixed race country and quoting Golden Dawn things on his Facebook page.
