Jack Warner (as part of the investigation into FIFA) has claimed this morning that FIFA had a direct hand in the elections held in Trinidad and Tobago in 2010. According to Wikipedia the results of that election were as follows:
People's Partnership Coalition 432,026 votes (60%) winning 29 seats People's National Movement 285,354 votes (40% -6% on 2007) winning 12 seats (-14 seats) Independents and Others 2,347 votes (0%) winning 0 seats
Wikipedia states that "The People's Partnership is a political coalition in Trinidad and Tobago among four political parties: the United National Congress, the Congress of the People, the Tobago Organization of the People, the National Joint Action Committee", In 2007, the UNC and Congress polled a total of 53%

Background......
Jack Warner was formerly the co-leader of the United National Congress (democratic socialism/third way) and MP for Changuanas West. In the 2010 general election, it formed a coalition government with four other parties and Warner became Minister for Works & Transport. He resigned from the UNC in 2013 whilst he was Minister of National Security to form the Independent Liberal Party. It currently has one seat (him) in the 41 seat House of Representatives.
As Jack Warner must be one of the least trustworthy people currently walking the planet, I would suspect that this is very much an attempt by him to discredit the UNC (his former party) in order that he may portray himself as the clean hands candidate and his ILP as the clean hands party.

But having said that, its not impossible. He could easily have got donations to his political party from people wanting support from him in his role at FIFA.

Everyone has known for years that Warner is as bent as Havelange. It wouldn't be surprising in the slightest if his now former party had received football related money as a method of laundering it.

Careful, João Havelange is still alive (aged 99) and unindicted.

Sadly, some charges were dropped: surprisingly, bribery wasn't an offence in Switzerland until the mid 1990s.

If Warner told you it was raining, you'd go out and make sure.

Wasn't The Blue Lamp set in DB's ward? Yes it was, although you'd have to have expert local knowledge to place the locations now. For example, the cinema foyer where PC Dixon fell is here: www.google.co.uk/maps/place/@51.522204,-0.19361,3a,75y,44.91h,91.63t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sPco6o-hlHRbUm8pzUgw8Gw!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x2de49d2b05681622!6m1!1e1 Do a copy and paste on the URL due to Proboards' inability to understand commas in URLs.

Wasn't The Blue Lamp set in DB's ward? The great thing is that George Dixon was coming up for retirement in 1950 when the Blue Lamp was released. And he was killed during the film! Despite that Dixon soldiered on until 1976 in Dixon of Dock Green latterly as a desk sergeant with Labour peer Ted Willis writing the screenplay. Towards the end of the series, Dixon was always seen behind the desk. We assumed that 80 years of age was pushing things even for a desk sergeant and that he was wheeled about on some sort of trolley underneath the desk.
