What if the SNP had fallen just short of a majority in the 2011 Scottish elections? There is no referendum, and the SNP fail to surge in the polls. Come 2015, they take maximum 6 LD seats and maybe 3 from Labour. Without this fear of the SNP, we get a result more like the one we were all expecting, Labour probably around 300 seats.

It would of course depend on the numbers -- it's possible that they would still have been able to get the referendum through on Green and Margo votes.
