It looks as though there is just one by-election scheduled for 12th March but where an Independent has been returned unopposed. I think I'm right in saying that's the first uncontested election in Scotland since the 2003 local government elections. It's definitely the first under STV.

Given that the SNP fought this division in 2012, you might have expected them to make this a contest now given their current popularity?

Given that the SNP fought this division in 2012, you might have expected them to make this a contest now given their current popularity? Maybe, but their one candidate was elected in 2012 and the isles are only partially there at embracing party politics locally.
