There is historic precedent for this sort of thing - at least one prominent historical figure (unfortunately I forget who) actually died as a result.

I know the inventor Thomas Midgeley Jr. dipped his hand into some tetraethyl-lead during a press conference (to demonstrate it safe) and was hospitalised for it, though that didn't kill him mind you*. * That "honour" would go to another one of his inventions. Later on he contract polio and was paralysed, so he developed a series of slings and pulleys to allow him to move around in his bed, then one day there was a mishap in which he got caught up in the pulleys and he died of asphyxiation. So ended the single deadliest inventor in human history, the man who gave us leaded petrol and freon, meeting his demise like so many millions of other people: strangled to death by one of his inventions...

He apparently did finish the sentence.
Also present at the battle was Major General Ambrose Burnside, who gave his name to sideburns. He is of political interest as he switched from being a Democrat to being a Republican because of the war and went on to become Senator for and Governor Rhode Island.
Sedgwick's military reputation was the higher of the two.

Italy still hasn't had a president born in the era of the republic. The first prime minister to fit that bill was d'Alema in 1998, so quite a contrast. Blimey, that is quite a factoid. After the collapse of the big parties in Italy, the comfort of knowng the older politicians, who had worked with the many party leaders now in new factions, guaranteed the octogenarian Head of State. The Italian Republic craves a king.

John Gummer didn't just eat the beef himself, he force-fed his daughter Cordelia. One of the most uncomfortable political moments of the early 1990s

She tried. Unsuccessfully: (Also, the forcefeeding perv is old enough to be her granddad. I didn't even know this part of the story.)

They are also doing state assembly polls. A lot are captured in this thread. A few seem dubious especially Chattisgarh.

In their LS-proJection they had NDA losing ground. INC in Punjab would also be something. Maharastra being very interesting, of course: The deFection of SHS-parts was obviously (also) a reAction to NCP's rise. As ignorant foreigner i had expected the Thackeray-SHS to have the upperHand.

Few more things to that LS-poll: Per state (plus changes compared to 2019, thankfully taken from someone else):
