2nd ANNIVERSARY POLL

It is the 2nd Anniversary of my blog.

So to celebrate I am conducting a poll.

Kept it simple. Just one question. It does have a Glasgow council by election feel to it as you have 39 parties to choose from.

There is no signing up just click and choose.

Well 2 hours in and we have had a 100 respondents. Thank you to contributors from here. I think we could well pass the 647 we got last year and in a shorter period of time.

Why does navigating the site cause a new window to pop up FOR EVERY SINGLE LINK? It destroys the site's navigability as it destroys the BACK functionality, and ends up with a gazillion tab buttons along the top of the browser window. And what on earth is it doing to hour-glass continuously on every page?

Obviously wasn't a good idea to include such a myriad of micro parties such as Class War and obviously those like 'FUKP' who are only standing in one seat and won't be availeble to most people to vote. 'Other' usually does OK as a catch-all for all but the main 5 parties these days (6 parties previously) plus Nationalists and NI parties. Self selcting internet polls like this are always a waste of space but yours looks like it will be even more so than usual now that someone from Class War has told all his mates about it

Thank you for your constructive criticism, I had set the links to open in new windows, due to the fact that I am used to working with multiple tabs open not thinking it isn't something someone else might not like. Recently my firefox has been crashing so it may be worth a good idea to get rid of that aspect.

As for the hour glass I don't know. I run on 50mb plus broadband, so I wonder if i have to many apps opening on the site for slower broadbands. Maybe that is the answer???

The reason for the poll was just to include all the parties which i follow one way or another thru the blog. It had more to with the blog than any sort of reasonable research to be used on voting intentions. If you are an election blog and talk about polls why not run a poll for the anniversary?

I did find one thing funny though, that a UKIP supporter is bemoaning the fact of a minor party hijacking the poll. All parties had been asked the same to retweet and we had had re tweets and requests sent out from labour mps, tory followers, ukip followers so all evenly asked. The Class war admittedly put in out on his main blog, but last year UKIP supporters did the same. Maybe it is indicative of how UKIP have become mainstream and don't love bomb every online poll.

But the top of bottom of it, it is just for fun.

It has advertised the blog. and given an interaction with the followers

You are allowed to think what you like,

I appologise to Mr Keane if I have soiled his polling section.

I thank those from here who have voted, it does try to ensure as many differing people get to vote.

currently over 630 people have in 12 hours. which took 3 days on the 1st Anniversary last year.

So all is good

It is just a bit of fun.
