I attach the Coventry elections from 1973 to 2003. I hope these are of interest. Cheers Steve Coventry MB.xlsx (431.34 KB)

Does anyone know where Godiva ward was in Coventry geographically between 1973 and 1979? Given that it was a Labour ward, I assume it was nowhere near where Wainbody ward is which was created in 1980, and was the only new ward name, and was a safe Tory ward?

Godiva ward covered the City Centre and not much else. It is now known as St Michaels. It was for a time a stronghold of Dave Nellist and his mates. Wainbody was created from the bits of Styvechale left out of Earldon and Cheylesmore and was an extra seat from 1980.

Given that almost all the ward names have remained the same since 1973, have most of the wards remained similar through the 2 boundary reviews since then?

I can't help there as I moved away from Coventry in 1983 and lost touch with the ward boundary changes since then.
