PvdA slugging it out with Irish Labour and PASOK in the popularity stakes.

Not worth betting on, no governing party will do that badly.

D66 seem to be polling very well of late.

D66 seem to be polling very well of late. Not bad for a party that once voted itself out of existence and only carried on because the motion didn't have a two thirds majority.

D66 seem to be polling very well of late. Dutch politics is ridiculous isn't it? They'll probably form part of the next government and then find themselves polling at about 2% again. lol.

And yet the no-mark "testimonial" parties, who haven't the courage to even consider joining a government, carry blithely on.

The Netherlands is, of course, the only other EU state voting today.

Guardian reports that returning officers in the Netherlands are obliged to read out the figures from a count if it's demanded. Interesting.

2014 Results: D66 | 15.4% | +4.0% | 4 seats | +1 | ALDE | CDA | 15.0% | -4.8% | 5 seats* | nc | EPP | PVV | 13.3% | -3.5% | 4 seats | nc | EFA | VVD | 12.0% | +0.6% | 3 seats | nc | ALDE | SP | 9.6% | +2.5% | 2 seats | nc | EUL-NGL | PvdA | 9.4% | -2.6% | 3 seats* | nc | S&D | GL | 6.9% | -1.9% | 2 seats | -1 | EGP | CU-SGP | 6.8% | +0.9% | 2 seats | nc | 1 ECR/ 1 EFD | PvdD | 4.2% | +0.6% | 1 seat | +1 | EUL-NGL~ | 50PLUS | 3.7% | +3.7% | 0 seats | nc | |
* CDA and PvdA gain extra seats relative to vote share due to deals which give them "excess votes" of CU-SGP/50Plus and GL respectively ~ Membership agreed post election. Not really all that much movement in terms of seats. PVV definitely underperformed compared to similar parties elsewhere. A Good result for D66 to top the poll.
