I do apologise, I tapped that in without looking at the screen. Whoops.
I was supposed to type, "Not much of a week, that"

Post of the year sent while on the move somewhere I understand how it happened. I switched from English to French without realising, so typed as normal on a different keyboard. Again, whoops, and sorry (or désolé) .

There is a hotly contested battle in the by-election in Aylesbury, Elmhurst Ward...this could be very interesting...

Can I point out again that the election in Hambleton has already happened and the individual who was nominated has already been returned unopposed and is a councillor right now at this very moment and nothing more needs to happen.

Fascinating that the boundary of Hornby Castle ward goes right through the middle of Catterick racecourse. Looks to me like the last fence on the far side of the course denotes the boundary.

Hornby is apparently counting in the morning, so that's it for tonight.

I am guessing that the resigned Lib Dem had a large personal vote judging by the 2011 result. But that doesn't explain falling down to 11%.

I think if you look a weeny bit deeper at the preview etc for the Iver election, the Lib Dem candidate came from Gerrards Cross, so was non-local. The Tory was chair of a local community group.
