The Liberals have swept to victory in Nova Scotia, winning 33 of 51 seats and relegating the incumbent NDP to third. The Liberals gained 22, while the NDP lost 24 (including the Premier's seat) and the Progressive Conservatives moved from 10 to 11.

This is the first Liberal government in Nova Scotia since 1999, following ten years of Progressive Conservative rule then a single-term NDP government.

The Dexter government was destroyed by its own myopic conservatism. So concerned to be seen to be 'responsible' and 'prudent' they ended up governing like a PC government, which, of course, pleased precisely no one. The NS NDP will be back, though. Probably in three or four elections (the PCs will presumably beat the Liberals first).
