These sorts of numbers look so weird to me - slogging your way through an election just to get 300-odd votes. I was got 4200+ votes the first time I was elected. Presumably you were elected in a met or a county on general election day? Sheffield City Council, May 1999, 2444 votes, 55% of 4471 ballots, 32% turnout of 13757 electors, and I notice I transposed '2' and '4' above (or maybe subconsciously thinking of the turnout). Even so, it does feel weird that I can walk down a single street in Whitby and get from one side of the ward to the other, where the entire electorate is less than the usual turnout in Sheffield.
