So it's the record vote for an individual candidate in a single member constituency, post ww2 on the British mainland.
Is that correct?

Not entirely sure where to put this, but if anyones interested, I've found a website that keeps upto date the number of councilors each party has and what not. I'm sure some of you already know, but for those who don't: link

Paula Surridge on postal voting (via the BES research). She adds a note of caution that 2021 may not mirror 2019.

Does anyone have a list of which constituencies have the same boundaries as the local authority? Hartlepool is one I think. Also Castle Point. It may not be exhaustive but I have: Argyll & Bute Blaenau Gwent Bromsgrove Burnley Cannock Chase Castle Point Ceredigion Chesham & Amersham* (Chiltern) Crawley East Lothian East Renfrewshire Gravesham Great Yarmouth Hartlepool Hertsmere High Peak Inverclyde Isle of Wight Kettering* Mansfield Mid Lothian Moray North Devon North West Leicestershire Pendle South Derbyshire Spelthorne Stirling West Dunbartonshire Western Isles Witney (West Oxfordshire) Worcester Wyre Forest Yns Mon (Anglesey) * Not anymore, but were when created (which is what counts I guess)

Constituencies ranked by median age (updated for Hartlepool):
The Conservative seat in column 1 is Southampton Itchen. The Labour seats in column 10 are Wirral West and Sefton Central.

I'd have never guessed that Southampton Itchen would be the Conservative seat with the youngest age - I wonder if there's an alternative metric which places Christchurch as the one with the oldest, which would mean that Chope has represented both extremes. I also didn't realise that Bath was so young.
Also turns out that if you can draw up a 'central' constituency in a big city, it's likely to have a very low median age - who knew!

In this May 2021 round of elections, more people in Scotland voted than in London, despite London having a much greater population.

If the seats in the Scottish Parliament were allocated according to the votes in the list section, according to the national total, without any constituencies, and without a threshold:
SNP 54 Conservative 31 Labour 24 Green 11 LD 6 Alba 2 All for Unity 1

Eighty years ago, on this day, the government captured Rudolf Hess after he flew solo to Britain and crash-landed in the East Renfrewshire constituency.
