Almost half the Labour seats are either in London or NW then! Shocking.

Not sure if this has been worked out by someone else but there are only two ceremonial counties left where Labour took all the seats: Bristol* and Tyne and Wear, after loosing South Yorkshire and County Durham in December.
The Conservatives have a net gain of 3 (Adding Suffolk, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire and Gloucestershire, but loosing Hertfordshire) to add to the 14 counties of Cornwall, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Dorset, Wiltshire, Isle of Wight, West Sussex, Surrey, Essex, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Buckinghamshire** and City of London.
*I think I'm right with Bristol. Pretty sure the county is coterminous with the 4 Bristol seats.
**Counting Bercow as a Tory for these purposes.

As far as I can see, only 2 postwar MPs called Bailey have been elected (although Rebecca Long-Bailey was once Bailey). They are the present MP for West Bromwich West, and his immediate predecessor. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this. Adrian Bailey might know..

Last one before that was Eric Bailey the one term Conservative MP for Manchester Gorton (1931-5).
Although Sir Adrian Baillie was Conservative MP for Tonbridge (1937-45) having previously been MP for Linlithgowshire (1931-5).

A variant spelling, but Siobhan Baillie is the new MP for Stroud. Incidentally, she announced she was pregnant yesterday.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about this. Not quite, Rebecca Roseanne Long is her birth name. Her husband is a Bailey.
