Of the 287 electoral contests, 47 were contested, 71 attracted an exact number of candidates, 162 ended up with a shortfall of candidates and 7 failed to attract any candidates at all.
In terms of the 2,056 seats, 336 (16.3%) were filled by contested elections, 1,365 (66.4%) were elected uncontested and 355 (17.3%) were not filled. Within the 336 contested seats, the degree of contestation was 115 (5.6%).
