This will be an interesting election. The leader of Ashfield Independents, Jason Zadrozny, is due to stand trial in February 2025 on a number of charges relating to financial activity. The outcome of this will likely have a significant impact on the election in Ashfield and the wider county where a number of associated independents hold seats under Zadroznys leadership.
Overall the Conservatives are coming off a relatively hire mark here and will likely fall back, particularly in Mansfield and Gedling. It remains to be seen how Labour will go given their national polling position and also will Lee Anderson be able to translate his personal triumph into wider Reform gains.
My view is this will be a NOC council after May with the Conservatives maybe still the largest party.

I would guess, given the general election result, that the Ashfield Independents would be under pressure from Reform in any case, though the legal issues clearly won't help.

Labour, Reform, Ashfield Independents and Tories.
