Of interest here is the 1st District, which has been Democratic for basically a century because of Gary. No, Gary wasn't a Congressman, it's actually a city in the Chicago metropolitan area. However, along with Coo County, Illinois, Gary is depopulating - in large part that's because the Great Migration has gone into reverse, with many African Americans moving back to the Deep South, especially Fulton, Clayton, DeKalb, Cobb, Henry, Gwinnett, Fayette and Forsyth counties in Georgia. That is why this seat could fall either this year or in a hypothetical Harris mid-term. Mrvan is fairly vulnerable in his Gary seat.
