On September 11, the Elias Law Group, which represents the Democratic Party nationally, threatened to sue the Virginia Board of Elections if the Board doesn’t remove Cornel West from the ballot. The legislature changed the presidential elector paperwork this year, and the new law went into effect July 1, 2024. The Cornel West used the old forms, which the Board had furnished to them.

There's talk here that the Republicans are doing well in early voting compared to 2020. This should probably be taken with quite a lot of salt as the circumstances of 2020 led to a lot of people voting at different times to what they usually would have and Virginia seemingly doesn't have party registration. The comparisons are being made on the areas where early voting is taking place or something like that. www.newsweek.com/virginia-early-voting-2024-election-1960560

Virginia's 7th (Fredericksburg) moves to toss-up. Republicans are probably holding Virginia's 2nd. It's an open seat this year. Abigail Spanberger is running for governor.

All of the votes are counted in Loudoun county VA (the richest county in America), 4.5% swing to Trump Biden+25, Harris+16

Republican Glenn Youngkin is term-limited here, and so I reckon the 2025 Virginia election will be Abigail Spanberger (current Congresswoman for Virginia's 7th District) vs Winsome Sears (current Lieutenant Governor) in all likelihood and they are the front runners. Every gubernatorial election in the Old Dominion sine 1965, with the exception of 2013, has seen the President's party lose the commonwealth's governor election so the Democrats have history on their side here.

Virginia trends. Harris matched Clinton's lead in Virginia. Some Republican NoVA bleeding has reversed. Northern Vriginia is still solidly Democratic.

Seen as a throw-away comment elsewhere, and I've not had chance to fully check, but...
There's a suggestion that this is the first time ever that a Republican has won the election without winning in the city of Virginia Beach.

If only the GOP winner in 2024 took Calvin Coolidge's approach to public statements.
