New JerseyLike New York this was definitely one of the poorer performances by the democrats at presidential level.

Lots of Asian voters here will probably have voted for Andy Kim for Senate and Harris for President. Remember that the Garden State was fairly close in 2004 and this election reminds me of that one. When Republicans win the popular vote, they have tended to do pretty well in New Jersey. It's a quite wealthy state in parts.

Peculiar to see this vote to the right of Virginia! I believe 1976 was the last time that happened due to Carter's Southern appeal and Ford holding up well in suburbanised states like Connecticut and New Jersey.

It'll be interesting to see who runs for governor in NJ. The incumbent party usually loses, but it's an open seat and it was very close in 2021. I'd favour the Democrats and Josh Gottheimer is certainly running an energetic campaign here, but the race is far from in the bag for Democrats in the Garden State.
