As a resident of (another) Bangor I'm well aware that upstate Maine is not like the rest of New England. Though the Bangor you live in is, for all the problems in certain bits, the Bangor, of which the others are pale imitations. True enough. We're about to celebrate one and a half millennia since the settlement's foundation apparently. I'd rather have a 140-year-old university and a cathedral than a racecourse or much more recent city status.

Isn't Augusta a golf course in Georgia though?

Nah, I have it on good authority that the midnight train also goes to the state of Georgia.

Very good poll for Golden here, and plenty of split tickets if accurate

Very good poll for Golden here, and plenty of split tickets if accurate They like incumbents in Maine's 2nd. The incumbent has lost once since 1916 (in the inaugural use of ranked choice voting in 2018). Golden will be just fine here.

Indeed, Collins will probably manage to win in 2026 if she runs even with Trump as President

Tighter poll here so who knows what’s accurate?

I am genuinely baffled that 6 people voted Kamala here. Trump won the district by 9%.

Trump won the district by 9%. This was never, ever going to be close. I know, which is why I was astonished that 6 people thought that Kamala would win here!

Considerably less people seemed to vote in the state polls in the sub forum compared to the vote in the overall election thread
