Tessa Jowell (RIP) wins the Mayoral selection in 2016. Sadiq Khan stays as an MP. He reluctantly stands for leader in 2020 as a unity candidate and receives endorsements from across the political spectrum and narrowly defeats Rebecca Long-Bailey on second preferences. What happens next?

So assuming that Jowell wins in 2016 (and let's not forget she was originally the strong favourite) this would mean a London mayoral by-election two years later.
An interesting prospect indeed.

The 2016 mayoral contest would have been a different affairs. Horribly married by the repeated attempts by Zac Goldsmith and David Cameron to draw comparisons with people Sadiq shared a platform with to support for Isis.
On the by election I wonder if Heidi Alexander would have stood, she stepped down in 2016 for Deputy Mayor

If Khan made it all the way to the 24 election with Sunak, then there would be even greater opportunity for third parties/independents. Expect more seats for Reform, possibly the Lib Dems too.

I think Khan's position on Gaza would have prevented losses to independents in Birmingham, Leicester, Blackburn, etc.

Which attack line, the pro-Hamas mob's attack line, or the non-existent Tory one?

Which attack line, the pro-Hamas mob's attack line, or the non-existent Tory one? worked so well on khan in 2016 ofc It did in certain areas, especially Harrow with the shameless "Sadiq will steal your gold" line. Indeed, the recent shift of their Hindu voters to the Tories can likely be dated back to then.

Labour would've lost Hendon and Uxbridge.
