Plaid Cymru - Lindsay Whittle Now there is a perennial candidate.
Plaid candidate for Caerphilly in 1983, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2001, 2005, 2010, 2017, 2019, and now 2024. He was also the Plaid candidate for the Assembly/ Senedd Caerphilly seat in 2003, 2007, and 2016 (He was a candidate for the SE Wales regional list 1999, 2003, 2011 and 2021).
Only successful once - the 2011 Assembly election where he was elected on the SE Wales regional list.
Though a bit more successful in local elections.
He has topped the poll in his four member ward in every election since Caerphilly CBC's first election in 1995.
And was also leader of Caerphilly CBC 1999-2004 and 2008-2011.
