Alyn Smith, former MEP is defending here for the SNP. The boundary revisions bringing Strathallan into this seat cut his majority to 8,556 (14.8%) over the conservatives. Smith has placed himself on the pro-EU, Sturgeonite, moderate wing of the SNP and that probably wont fare as well for him here this time as it did in 2019, with this being a particularly pro-remain part of the country as the salience of that drops.
Neil Benny, councillor for Stirling West, is the main challenger. A local who has been a local councillor since 2007, seems a reasonably well known figure in the area. Don't quite think he'll be able to squeeze through the declining SNP vote here mind.
Labour don't appear to have announced a candidate here yet, grouping the seat with those which are clear no-hopers for the party. They should probably have more ambition to win back Stirling that that but its probably a project for 2029.

The Liberal Democrats have selected Hamish Taylor as their PPC.

This is absolutely not a no-hoper for Labour - on current polling it is very much within the realms of a win

Too close to call, will update my call closer to the election.
EDIT: Going for an SNP hold here.

BBC exit poll seems to suggest this is going to the Tories.

BBC exit poll seems to suggest this is going to the Tories. It has gone to Labour.

Alyn Smith claiming the SNP defeat was “a good thing”
Honestly the SNP reaction to this election has been hysterical.
