Gavin Newlands, SNP incumbent since 2015 is defending here and notionally has a 11,753 (25%) majority over Labour. Newlands is the SNP's transport spokesperson in the Commons but otherwise appears largely generic and will be hoping his large majority is enough to sail out national storms. Alison Taylor, a chartered surveyor, is the Labour hopeful.
