Owen Thompson, who currently serves as the SNP's chief whip in the commons, will defend a 5,705 (12%) majority over Labour. A former council leader, Thompson was first elected to the commons in 2015, returning in 2019 after be ousted by Labour in 2017.
The labour challenger is Kirsty McNeill, not the 2017-19 MP, McNeill is a former spad to Gordon Brown and is the chair of the advisory board of Brown's Our Scottish Future campaign group.
