Stewart McDonald, incumbent since 2015, defends a 9,151 (19%) vote notional majority for the SNP here. McDonald, as the SNP's defence spokesperson during Ian Blackford's leadership was most notable for his pro-Ukraine views before the 2022 invasion. He's close to Alyn Smith regarding pro-EU politics and probably one of the closest adherents of the Sturgeon-Yousaf line in his party's factional battles.
He faces probably his first serious challenge since his election this year from Labour's Gordon McKee, a spad to shawdow scottish secretary Ian Murray. Most polls currently have Labour winning.

Labour gain and I think they'll sweep all of Glasgow which as we know backed a Yes vote in the Referendum.

So one of the most decent and intelligent SNP members duly went down to defeat here. He was a definite improvement on his "Labour" predecessor too.

Such a shame, the one before that, John Maxton, was quite a decent MP.
