According to the Guardian, former Conservative and UKIP MEP Amjad Bashir is to stand in "Pudsey" for the Workers Party. I presume that means this constituency.

According to the Guardian, former Conservative and UKIP MEP Amjad Bashir is to stand in "Pudsey" for the Workers Party. I presume that means this constituency. His brother used to run an incredible Indian take-away near me and I was a regular customer. Shame he moved on as no other takeaway in the area comes anywhere near. |

The Workers Party candidates list undergoes regular changes, perhaps unsurprisingly, and Amjad Bashir is no longer listed for this constituency.

Andrea Whitehead dropped as Reform UK candidate for racist social media posts . She’s still down as the Reform UK candidate. Nominations have closed, so that can't be changed. There are reports that she has been disowned, though. |

The more recent trend of waiting until nominations close before exposing a candidate is going to make it more important for parties to do thorough vetting much earlier in the process, for sure.
