Seems a bit pointless when there's a UKIP and SDP candidate anyway, so those voters still have plenty of places to go. Except that the UKIP guy has been dropped in from Scotland and have you seen the facebook page of the SDP chap? ? Yes, Bramham is a rather belligerent 'ex-gay' loon. He's notorious on gay Twitter on all sides of the divide.

I would posit that most people looking to vote for Reform are not primarily motivated by the merits of the candidate, especially if the alternative is Gavin Williamson.

Over the past 10 days I have been talking to a number of people in different parts of the constituency about the election. My initial thought was that the dodgy withdrawal of the Reform UK candidate would help Williamson. . Talking to people, about 45/50 plus I am not so sure now. Some Tories are not pleased with the turn of events and staying away. Others, of various persuasions, seem to be coming to the conclusion that as there will be a Labour government one more Labour MP will make no difference. . My view and that of others, is that a 'dump Gav' feeling is coalescing, with the lack of Reform UK, around the Labour candidate. . An unexpected, though very welcome, end of Williamson MP is a possibility.

Williamson will be fine.

I can't see Williamson losing this seat, even with the polls as dire as they are. It's basically tailor-made for the Tories.

I think your hatred of Williamson is just about the greatest hatred of a current party colleague of anyone who regularly posts on this forum. You must be pleased not to be an elector in his constituency.

You must be pleased not to be an elector in his constituency.I am indeed. As it happens, my sister texted me a few days ago to tell me about something she had heard about the non-existence of a Reform candidate in his constituency. She seemed to think that it was a good thing. She was a bit taken aback when I said that it was a bad thing, because it meant that the Conservative vote wouldn’t be split and that GW was therefore less likely to be defeated. My sister is usually fairly secretive about how she votes; I think she’s likely to vote Lib Dem or Labour. In 2022 she said that she would definitely not vote Conservative of Liz Truss was the leader, but might if Rishi Sunak was. I’m not sure if she thought that the above was “good” because of her dislike of the Reform Party or because of her sympathy for me being a Conservative.

Any future deal on UK/EU freedom of movement should be signed in the town of Stone.

Bill Cash had a large personal following in Stone, Williamson can't expect to inherit all of that and from what has been said he is not sure of Stone and is putting a lot of effort into his old area in the south.

Update. Now 7 leaflets from Gav' plus 2 emails. 2 leaflets from Labour. 1 leaflet from UKIP. . I have also seen 2 of Gav's leaflets on lampposts, but where on the original he says "Fighting for Staffordshire" these 2 have a sticker on so that they now read "Fighting for Survival".

I'd enjoy seeing Williamson lose here but I doubt he will.

Oh we don't even get a mention, nearer to G W than the others. Lived in Staffordshire all of my life and never needed to go to Stone.
