Surprised how little discussion there has been on this seat - In a more 'normal' election this should be a Tory hold but now is at the very end of Labour's plausible target list. It's been a long time since Labour got close and all the demographic trends are against them in this seat, however if the polls are accurate and the local elections are indicative then they might pull off something remarkable here.

It was what I would consider off the scale for a potential Labour gain. It is an ex-mining seat that has trended away from Labour for many years and appeared to have been lost forever.
