Seen it reported on facebook that Cllr Alden is NOT standing this time round for the Tories. So either he has finally got bored of losing or has his eye on other things.

Understand the tory candidate is Duffield, Derbyshire Parish councillor Steve Knee.

Understand the tory candidate is Duffield, Derbyshire Parish councillor Steve Knee. Interesting - not exactly a high profile choice then. I would say that is a pretty clear indication that they don't rate their chances, although it would be very funny if they did somehow win after Cllr Alden's five losses.

Why would they rate their chances in a seat they have not won since WWII at a time when they are way behind Labour nationally?

It’s probably a reasonable assumption that Robert Alden would do a bit better than any other Tory candidate would here in any circumstances, but he wouldn’t win even in a good year. He consistently gets one of the Tories best ward results in Birmingham in a swingy ward which Labour may well hold at the moment if he wasn’t around. I wonder if he’s in the mix for Solihull.

I thought Nicola Richards was likely to get Solihull and Shirley?

A different style TUSC leaflet with Dave Nellist. It's like coming on to a classical rick station on the car radio and realising, I always hated that tune. electionleaflets.org/leaflets/20553/

Results page on BCC website says Corinthia Ward (TUSC) got 376 votes but both BBC and Sky say she only got 37 votes - which is the correct figure?

Where there is any discrepancy I tend to go with the figure that the council says on their own website. I've found a similar example for North Cornwall - both BBC and Sky say the Lib Dem got 24904 votes but the figure on Cornwall Council website says 24094 so that's the figure I'm going to trust. Is there ever an official, 100% definitive set of results published somewhere?

Perhaps they were awaiting the Wandsworth full details? Just noticed on Twitter:- He's also awaiting 2024 but a good collection of stats. Is there ever an official, 100% definitive set of results published somewhere? HoC Library later this week.
