I would expect a strong LABOUR HOLD here. Despite the increasingly hipster leanings of Harborne I think the appeal of Lib Dems/Greens will remain small as Labour has done such a good job of establishing itself as the primary opposition to the Tories locally. The Conservative candidate, an advisor to Andy Street, doesn't mention the Conservatives on his website, which is probably wise. My final observation is that this seat has an increasing (partially due to boundary changes) Asian-Indian-British voter cohort that is relatively wealthy and well established in the city. Whether the Conservatives will benefit from this as a result of Sunak's ethnicity remains to be seen but I suspect the effect will be fairly limited.

5% swing to Conservatives in Council by-election in Kingstanding yesterday. Isn’t Kingstanding in Birmingham Erdington? Yes, and previously it was in Perry Barr. It's never been in Edgbaston, which is on the opposite side of Birmingham.

5% swing to Conservatives in Council by-election in Kingstanding yesterday. On a 12% turnout - however, there are parts of Quinton and Bartley Green wards which do demographically resemble Kingstanding.

I don't think much of Quinton does. Welsh House Farm perhaps, but that's in Harborne now

Five usual parties plus an independent. Not massively amused at having to download the Brum SOPNs btw.
