Candidates: Oliver Marshall Amede Chisholm ND Kelvin Clayton Green Party Chris Loder The Conservative Party Candidate Donna Lumsden Labour Party Edward Morello Liberal Democrats Marcus Daniel Terence White ND So the only Dorset seat with no Reform. Oliver Chisholm I believe is ex-UKIP, no idea about Marcus White's politics. All candidates local except Labour's who lives just down the road in Dagenham and Rainham. Mid Dorset also no Reform according to your post? Sorry you are correct Mid Dorset also has no Reform.

The supposed Reform candidate was trying to get his nominations signed the day before by telling people to go to the Dorchester Spoons to sign them. It’s not really a surprise they didn’t go in.

4 seats in the South West had a winner with >50% of the vote. Here, St Ives, Cheltenham and Bristol Central. I think most would consider here to be the most surprising. Potential Reform voters who were sick of the Tories will have helped those numbers here, but I also think this is a more natural Lib Dem seat than a lot of others in the South West.

A constituency I have had long associations with, although have never lived in. There was a discussion on LibDem Voice some years ago and I wrote that it was the seat I would most like to see us win. Someone responded, "How long are you expecting to live, Tony?"

As a local I'm very pleased with this result, I think Edward Morello will be able to bring something valuable to the table. Personally, this is the first time I've voted for someone for Parliament who went on to win.

The Liberals do have something about them that simply runs with the grain of the West Country. A distant echo of Methodism, perhaps.
