Putting this here because the 2025 boards aren’t up yet but in terms of the Cornwall elections next year, if you look at a projection for who carried each division in Cornwall at the GE this year, you get Lab 45 LD 29 Con 13.
Cornwall is about one of the least worthwhile places to project national voting patterns onto local results, and I’d fairly confidently predict that there will still be a healthy smattering of Inds and MK next year, but that would be a council of
Lab 45 (+40) LD 29 (+16) Con 13 (-30)
It will be interesting as to whether Labour can carry forward any or all of the GE Momentum here. I’ve thought that they have underperformed in LEs in Cornwall for a while and I don’t think they will win control or get close to it, but I do wonder if they might deny the LD the overall control that I had thought was almost certain.
