Maybe it's OK to ask the people why they nominated them.
However a lot of nominating and signing is done on trust. I've signed nomination papers for a candidate as I trusted the agent asking, I definitely didn't check the social media of, and speeches made by, the candidate before doing so.

I am very uneasy with a letter like that. It is focusing on the nominator and seconder and putting them into a position where they have to defend the candidate's views.
The letter should have focused on the candidate, and could have concluded by asking whether those who nominated and seconded knew their views.

In fairness, war often causes larger potholes in roads.

I don't see any issue in principle. It is perfectly legitimate to say electors should check the views of a candidate before subsscribing their nomination papers. Anyone who has subscribed the nomination papers of a candidate has made a public declaration that this candidate is a suitable Member of Parliament, and so it is legitimate to draw attention to their actions. No they haven't. They have made a public declaration that they want the candidate to be a candidate, without any reference to suitability or otherwise. I never asked any of the c.260 people who nominated me if they thought I was "suitable", and AFAIR they didn't volunteer any such statement either.

Actually it is more that the people who nominated say some worrying things about the candidate. She may be on the ballot as an independent but is functionally a candidate for The Light. Her seconder, Richard House, can regularly be found on Stroud high street giving out free copies of the newspaper

There are loads of their boards by the A34 out towards Congleton constantly. Is it some sort of cult?

From what one can tell it’s aimed at conspiracy theorists and seeks to encourage more - both theories and advocates of them

Haven't seen any figures yet but the Green vote was going to Labour this time, so 10k isn't a surprise.

I suspect if Doina had wanted to make a fuss then this would have been a lot more difficult for us. Several members and even a couple of councillors who left over what happened were quite supportive

He would be one who were supportive of Labour.
