There has been no addition to the above since I posted it, however the Green is now district councillor for Chalford ward and deputy leader of the council. Worth noting as well that despite the local election results Labour hold a narrow plurality of council in the constituency seats as a lot of the were in North Cotswolds wards.
In the event I expect Labour to gain this fairly comfortably

Actual campaign update: Rishi visited us with a trip to Great Oldbury Academy alongside Siobhan Bailie. This was drowned out by the D-Day news. He also thinks the Tories are going to do "well" in Gloucestershire. He will be disappointed. Tories do appear to have been actively canvassing some areas, although mostly their stronger ones and there doesn't seem to have been much from them even in the "bellwether" parts of the seat

Latest from Siobhain Baillie is that she's supporting "community pub fights". Good to hear the old traditions of settling it in the car park after closing time are safe in her hands.

"improving railway access" sounds like a trespassers dream as well. It's clearly not your typical "sticking to the plan. The plan is working" national copy, but it does read like it could have done with a second draft.

I spotted Siobhan Bailie delivering leaflets in the village of North Nibley a few days ago. Seemed to get a good reception from the what I saw. Respect for the determination.
In our little enclave we have the usual mix of boards. Mostly Green, some Labour, and the odd Lib Dem. I hope Greens make some inroads on the back of a well run, Green coalition led local council.

To be brutally honest I'm not sure I know anyone who would say the green council is "well run". I've heard an awful lot of complaints about the council from people who aren't even political enough to be aware of who runs it, and definitely a marked increase since they took over. I've seen green Libdem and Labour posters in Wotton, cam and dursley is plastered with Labour - the more long standing locals tell me it's the most stakes and posters we've ever had in the area

I see that this group is naming and, presumably with a view to shaming, the proposer and seconder of a candidate here whose views they disagree with. Is this in order as the proposer and seconder and assentors to a nomination are not required to agree with the views of a candidate, only that they should be a candidate? They could even disagree with them but support their right to stand and put their views across (much like some Labour MPs signed Corbyn’s nomination to stand as Leader). This strikes me as a dangerous practice as it could discourage people from signing a candidate’s nomination paper. amplifystroud.com/2024-06-letter-to-the-editor-hitler-apologist/

I don't see any issue in principle. It is perfectly legitimate to say electors should check the views of a candidate before subsscribing their nomination papers. Anyone who has subscribed the nomination papers of a candidate has made a public declaration that this candidate is a suitable Member of Parliament, and so it is legitimate to draw attention to their actions.
