Rumour has it that the Liberal Party is running 5 or 6 candidates in Cornwall... wouldn't it be tragic if the LibDems missed some of their targets by a handful of votes?

St. Ives can be a LibDem gain, but Labour want three seats (Camborne & Redruth, Truro & Falmouth, St Austell & Newquay). The others are probably Tory (North Cornwall, South East Cornwall)

When your Liberal Party was founded, it was a party of people with a) values broadly similar to the Lib Dems and b) a particularly disdain for the Lib Dems. Seems like the only thing defining the party is b) nowadays.
Anyhow, I think that this is the only Cornish seat where your party standing might have an effect on whether the Lib Dems get elected or not.

The LibDems aren't regarded as Liberals so its not so much disdain as pity...

They are, indeed, frequently still referred to as The Liberals. Which must really piss you off.
I used to respect the Liberal Party but they have become very boring now. Even though Michael Meadowcroft left which should be definition have made them more interesting.

The LibDems aren't regarded as Liberals so its not so much disdain as pity... By nobody that matters of course. There are significantly more hard-core Liberals in the Lib Dems than the entire membership of the so called 'Liberal' Party.

How hard-core a Liberal can they be if they can stand being in the LibDems??!!

I'm not sure that a debate about how liberal the Liberal Democrats are is best in constituency threads TBH.

The FT profile on the LD "A30" strategy marked this as one of the target seats. Having a look at the social media (not scientific) output of the respective candidates it would seem the more upbeat one is the LD..
Well, we will soon see.
