The Greens are sweeping their way across the inner suburbs of the town and the Tories have absolutely no chance here. Add to that Reading Borough Council's perpetual unpopularity (the previous leader Jason Brock not helping those matters one bit) and it means the seat will be easy for the red team the first time, but could be a difficult defence after a first term. Not heard of the others apart from Adam Gillman (part of a long standing Socialist Party family from the Bracknell area, committed but very much in a minority) and Michael Turberville, who pops up occasionally as a candidate but doesn't seem to go anywhere.

He's a councillor in Kentwood (outer west Reading), relatively popular in his home ward, but not that well known in the rest of the borough.
