This is shown as a Lib Dem win in the YouGov MRP today even though it appears not to take account of by-elections.

Con vote in 2019 down 5.4% LD vote in 2019 up 13.3%
Plus the meltdown in the Con vote in the South.
Had the by-election in 2021 been in a seat elsewhere in the South and the phrase blue wall still been born, this is the sort of seat that would fit into the pattern so many are predicting.
Encouraging.

What, the people of Gerrards Cross not to be represented by a Conservative MP?!

Big story in The Sunday Times today about Sarah Green getting IPSA to pay £120,699.98 to Midas Training, run by veteran Lib Dem Candy PIercy, for vague unspecified services.

I presume someone is working on a more detailed rebuttal, could prove very interesting. Amazing that this has apparently being going on for 3 years, but news only breaks within 2 weeks of a major election day.

We were at The Meadow in Chesham just two weeks ago, for the Alex Horne/Taskmaster charity special, in the blazing sunlight.
My kids (not me of course, oh no that would be immature) were very excited to meet several Taskmaster contestants they recognised and Alex himself.
We now know, if we’d waited another couple of weeks we could have seen REAL comedians on the pitch…..

Locally, this is still a true blue heartland, and that was as true in 1993 as it is today. Even in 1997, the Tories regained Christchurch from Diana Maddock.
CON 50% LDEM 47% OTH 3%

That, plus this really isn't natural Reform territory (83% - the highest EU referendum turnout and 55% Remain). I think the private school VAT issue will actually have less purchase in Bucks because of the grammar schools. That said, this seat isn't far from Eton.

I'd be surprised if there was any losing candidate in any seat anywhere in this election who gets 47%. We're not in that world any more. Which is quite something in itself considering all the "2 party system is back" stories after 2017.
