We're chasing this one up with the council.

What if it appears on the ballot incorrectly? If it got that far without being corrected, then the council would probably print a second lot of ballot papers, recall and void the incorrect ones, send the corrected second version out to the postal voters, and do a lot of grovelling and apologising. If it went all the way without being corrected, it could be grounds for an election petition - but by no means would that automatically succeed.

The SOPN has been updated to correct the description from Social Democratic to The Green Party.

Surprised (although perhaps shouldn’t be given he’s had two crushing defeats and a declining vote share each time) that Leech isn’t standing again.
This could be a seat where there may be a swing away from Labour possibly towards the Greens or WP though Jeff Smith shouldn’t have to worry this time. Not helped by the removal of Burnage though, leaving the Intelligentsia of Manchester to be concentrated in this seat, many of whom may wish to protest on Gaza or Green issues, etc against Labour.

Greens will replace the Lib Dems here. Chorlton-cum-Hardy will be pretty good for them, along with Withington itself. I think DIdsbury will have Lib Dems second.

I suspect the Greens will score in the mid to high teens while the Lib Dems might struggle to make it to double digits. I would be shocked if they don't come second in the Disburys though, will have to as a friend who is going to the count to report back on the box counts. Once Labour are in government I imagine the Lib Dems will finally take the 3rd seat in Didsbury West during the next cycle and probably a seat or two in East. The Greens should take at least one seat from Labour olin Chorlton and there is fair chance Withington ward itself will fall to one of those two in the next cycle as well. Still, with this split opposition the consistency is likely to remain safely Labour for several elections to come
