Pedantry is sometimes necessary during election campaigns. Nothing inherently wrong with it.

Not to be confused with Ronald Atkins, Labour MP for nearby Preston North, who died a few years back aged 104. but that’s just the trouble, probably a few electors did confuse them at Preston North in 1979. And enough to swing the result-Robert defeated Ronald by 29 votes!

Andrew Snowdon worked like a dog when PCC and is a very personable guy, although is from the other side of Lancashire. However the other two also have no local links (Michael Winstanley went for the Blackpool South by-election and was underwhelming at the hustings meeting) so should be pretty secure. They seem not to have put any locals through which I'm sure will ruffle feathers.

Funnily enough my grandparents also live in the seat. It's true blue but not just full of retirees and farmers. It's small business and sole trader territory, with no major employers of note in either the private or public sector.

Yes she did. Firstly in a purpose-built flat near the tram terminus (but officially just in St Annes) and then in a converted flat close to central St Annes.

Did Aegon take over the old Aviva site presumably? I'd forgotten about BaE, thought that came under Preston for some reason.
