The lack of discussion here shows how in the bag this should have been, and was, for Labour despite Chris Green's impressive majority in 2019. The interesting underlying result for me here is the Green Party getting nearly 10% of the vote despite I imagine very little local government presence, though I understand this area does have an eclectic mix of councillors of other kinds. You'd think most Labour supporting voters are well ingrained tactical voters given the two near misses in 2015/19 but this time many felt either not enthralled with Labour or felt they had the luxury of being able to vote Green with the feeling Labour had it in the bag.
