What's with all these long new constituency names? Labour Hold Mary Glindon MP (Labour) The length and awkwardness of the constituency names is often a side-effect of the strict new rules on drawing boundaries, in which constituencies are more rigidly constrained within a certain limit of electorate and therefore more awkwardly being forced to be different from natural communities. So they quite often had to add on bits like “Bla Bla and Thingy West” |

This seat covers the east of Newcastle and Wallsend so it's named accurately.
