Fiona Lali (national campaigns co-ordinator of the newly-formed Revolutionary Communist Party) says on twitter ( @rubanga_a ) that she is going to be an Independent candidate in Stratford & Bow.
Such bourgeois revisionism and parliamentary cretinism makes a nonsense of the RCP’s proclaimed aim of not standing in elections, and the fact that it’s not a registered party.

Someone on Twitter (replying to the abovementioned Fiona Lali) points out that also standing in Stratford & Bow (apparently also as an Independent) is Halima Khan ( twitter @halimanyomi ) who is “Whistleblower in Aljazeera’s Labour Files, Former Investigations Governance Officer & Chair of Labour Party’s BAME Staff Network”
and that they apparently haven’t coordinated with each other about not splitting the vote

what do you expect from militant The RCP was never anything to do with Militant. Socialist Appeal was expelled from Militant in 1992 when they disagreed with Militant’s decision to abandon the policy of entryism into the Labour Party. So yes it was to do with Militant if you go back far enough.

ted grant was the leading member of the first one there have been 3 3? 3 what? 3 versions of Militant? If you mean that there have been three Revolutionary Communist Parties, you must be not including the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain (Marxist-Leninist).

Urgh. I was hoping the nutters would be left behind in West Ham & Beckton. Why? What’s happening in West Ham & Beckton? Something interesting with revolutionaries and left-wing weirdo independents? None are mentioned or listed in the thread thereof.

Whatever one thinks about her political views, Lali is an extraordinarily good communicator with skipfuls of courage. She was on the james whale youtube show yesterday - highly entertaining 😃

Fingers crossed the replacement candidate comes from the Labour Party in Tower Hamlets. Newham Labour is a binfire of mediocrity.

Loads of peerages, damehoods, Sirs promised to an avalanche of safe seat Labour MP retirements so the right in Labour can get their supporters in. On paper, this should be a super safe Labour seat. But recent international circumstances will give momentum to the Workers Party - one of their best targets in the country. Somehow, I doubt Starmer and Labour high command will be rubbing their hands with glee at Lyn Brown's announcement.

Uma Kumaran is the Labour Party PPC here. She stood in Harrow in 2015 against Bob Blackman. Is a former Sir Keir advisor and yet another centre right Labour PPC. She's Hindu, family from Sri Lanka
A certainty to win here.

SOPN10 candidates. The usual 5, plus 4 independents and the WPB. One of the independents is Steve Hedley, who is a former TUSC candidate and former senior official in the teachers' union RMT. He will be yet another Gaza-focused candidate.
