Those of us old enough to remember 1997 will recall the local Tories thinking that Angela Rumbold would hold on....little did they know...

Angela Rumbold had a personal vote in 1992 which without her incumbency I doubt they would have held as even then they were down to just Lower Morden ward wise. Now it’s the sole Lower Morden Conservative councillor standing here, I expect around a 24k Lab majority here.
